Dropped my S8+ with an otter box on it from 2 feet. Hit corner first and cracked the screen. Sucks.

I’m An Apple Guy Myself, But I Used The S8 Active This Past Saturday To Activate My iPhone 8 And I Can Say That Phone Is Really Gorgeous. That Display Alone Is Better Than Mine, The Call Quality Was Superb, The Screen Was Very Responsive. The Grip I Had That It Was An AT&T Exclusive, I’d Definitely Buy It.

We got my son one of those Walmart Family LG phones when we sent him off to college. He has dropped it many time over the last year. Highest drop was out a 5 story window at his dorm. It's been dropped on concrete, hardwood floors, pavement, etc.. The screen still looks like the day we bought it… flawless. No scratches, cracks, or anything.

The biggest advantage the active has that goes unmentioned is massive 4000mh battery vs the s8's 3000.

A better test would have been a s8 with a rugged battery case vs the active.
