iPhone 4s is a true example.

In 2011, this was considered the fastest phone you could get but, through time it gotten worse with each update and shouldn't updates improve performance not give worse performance that what it did at launch?

Dongles, shitty batteries, iOS updates with intentional slow downs, late to the full screen party, no micro SD support, the MOST EXPENSIVE phone ever, and an eco-system that is a prison for your device…. what is the point? Apple is ripping people off but stupid apple fan-boys and girls don't seem to mind or are too dumb to see it. WAKE UP people, WAKE UP!!!

Why so anyone surprised about this .
I had several android phones from droid to
Sangsum and now I have an iPhone .

Literally all phones do this . Every single one .
And it’s for several reasons .
1 to get you to buy an update , why do you think every new version of any phone has a new gimmick . It’s to push the consumer to that new device. So they will also slow down your phone with the new software updates .

But a simpler reason and a another half of the equation is that older hardware cannot always handle brewer software it where’s down over the years of use.

That’s all I have to say

At least they admitted it. That's a good start. Let's see they can walk the talk. Afterall they said it's goal is to deliver the best experience for customers.

People will still complain. Apple is trying to make a beat up battery work. People would still complain if the phone just turned off on its own because the battery is bad and Apple did nothing. So either way Apple is getting the Blame no matter how they help the user.

This isn't a big surprise and I don't think anyone should really be surprised. I have an iPhone 5 right now and I wonder if they slowed that down overtime or if this "feature" is a thing that started 2 years ago. The last IOS update the iPhone 5 was IOS 10. I think it runs slower than when I first got it but that is to be expected since I got it when it first came out in 2012 I think it was. I wonder if it is really necessary to slow down older iPhones because why couldn't they just do without certain features on the older models. Or maybe this is just a way to make more money, which wouldn't surprise me because every company does it.
